Thanks for posting this work done by my dad, Art Saaf. It is a seminal, very inportant point in his style development. Just compare a Standard romance work of his a year later and you will see that he went through, thanks to Toth, a metamorphisis! (They knew each other and admired their works)

Kid, its nice to see you adding a couple of more posts.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Nedor-A-Day will continue to rebound.

"Steve S" had previously posted a comment on my own blog in response to a Jetta profile that I did awhile back.

I wish that I could contact him directly, I think that I "may" have an original art page that Art Saaf worked on. I say "may" because I am just not sure. The art is rather large, but is from one of the Standard romance books, "New Romances" circa 1951. There are markings on the page that identify the issue in code. "R743-6" which I take to mean issue #6 (which is also written in marker on the upper right corner).

Hand-written on the back of the page is the following name & address: Leo Wurtzel 130 W.42nd St.; 8th Floor; Fiction House.

I don't know what that has to do with this page of art, because the "Standard" company stamp is on the top of the front page, and "New Rom." is also stamped at the bottom of the front page.

Help, Steve S, you're my only hope!

Hey Chuck-
Got to the site and click on the link for the comic index page, you'll find an email address there, I'll be glad to help if I can!

The "6" may mean a page #.

Thanks for the interest,
Steve S
